SARAH - LEAD TEACHER

Q: What year did you begin teaching at WNNS?

    A: 2012

Q: What was your favorite book when you were a child?

A: A Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame. Fox in Socks by Dr. Seuss holds a special place in my heart, too.

Q: What is your favorite children's book now?

A: Where the Wild things Are by Maurice Sendak

Q: What motivates you as an educator?

A: As a teacher of very young children, I love that I can help to cultivate emotional intelligence and kindness. In the preschool years, children are developing an understanding of their own inner emotional life, and with that understanding comes a growing empathy for the feelings of others.  I believe this kind of education, especially early on, honestly creates a better world - so this job feels pretty special.

Q: What motivates you as an educator?

A: I’ve always loved working with children, but I've found my motivation as a teacher stems from even the slightest glimpse of a child finding success in their own words and actions. These moments remind me of my passion for the work and the community it serves.
